Cool Stuff And Sales - Being Lazy And Making Wish Lists

I woke up with a headache and bloodshot eyes. My end semester exams kicked off from yesterday. I should have been studying since morning for the next one on Thursday, but eh! So you guys loved the last wish list I made with pocket friendly but cool clothes/accessories and here I made another one. Ok so I have been telling my best friend how I want a long sleeve black dress I had seen on a blogger I follow last fall I think and I love floral prints, especially roses on black material (I don't know why). I love flatform shoes (the only heels I can walk on I guess) and I find it harder to shop for shoes more than anything as I have very small feet which most retailers don't even carry that size. My size is one size smaller than what they carry most of the time! And don't even get me started on my clothing size! This site Buy Trends has pretty cool things and in flexible sizes (the unflattering, uncool stuff are not the only shoes/clothes which will fit me) and they have some other offers like extra discounts depending on the number of items your purchase. Not to mention they have a full website up to 80% sale going on.

Metallic Lace Up Shoes
Back Lace Up Wedge Boots
Floral Dress
Long Sleeve Black Knit Dress

Also since winter is knocking on our doors

Long Glove (this one is just 2.40$ on sale!)
Baggy Sweater

So what do you think of this stuff?

I was paid to put up their banner on my sidebar but this post is courtesy yours truly

Firmoo Giveaway!

Ok guys so if you follow me on twitter and are friends with me on facebook you may have seen I said there will be a good news here soon. I know many of you loved my round sunglasses that I got from Firmoo (yes  I asked them they confirmed they ship to India too). I mean we all know the funda for giveaways; you know how to enter it and how it works and that it is a simple way of thanking the readers/blogospherians who encourage/inspire me so much. But it feels good hosting giveaways for brands I personally love. I have been wearing my glasses to places and getting compliments on the design, more importantly I must mention they are of such good quality. Given it is me I have of course dropped it once and sat on it twice, forgot it was in the bag and I lay down on it once. So you get the idea, right? Ya well not a scratch on the glasses! That in my book (should be in yours too) is something of really good quality.
You get 20$ (that's 1108INR) vouchers each (there are plenty of choices within that range).

Here's all you have to do:
  1. Follow me on GFC non-anonymously
  2. Leave a comment with your email id so I can contact you when you win
Now the best part
I am giving the voucher to not 1 or 2, but 5 of you.
This giveaway is open internationally.
Ends on 9th December 2012

May The Force Be Ever In Your Favor!

P.S.-You get your first pair for free if you are a new customer so use this voucher for the 2nd pair by 25th Dec. That's 2 new glasses for New Year!

Love Your Clothes, Love Your Wallet

You know half the time I think that I do not have enough jewellery or an amazing collection of shoes and rad bags. I do like the stuff I own but truth be told I do not shop that often. I am a student living on a budget and I do not want a credit card right now (due to RBI rules we cannot use our debit cards for paypal and such). I do look around for stores who have rad things that are also cheap. I like my things new and random in a way and I do not want to burn a hole in my pocket which is already almost empty now that we are nearing the end of the month. You can indulge in cool looking things if they are not too expensive as long as you keep within a budget, right? I am not really asking.
So I came across this site Clothing loves who have some cool pieces and they are cheap too!
..here are the pieces I am lusting after

chiffon dress white
Dark Bule Single Breasted Coat
Feather Necklace
Rivets Tassel Chain Comb Earhook
Dark Grey Sequinned Jumper

What do you think about the stuff here?

I am supposed to get something from them for doing this post on them but these choices/words are mine

Winter Is Coming

Well Hi!
Yeah Bye!

What do you guys dread about funerals? Since I am Indian there's always lots of incense and tuberoses (rajanigandha) around and there smell is effectively depressing wherever I get a sniff of it. And no this is not my ideal funeral attire, it's ideal winter wardrobe though. I was just thinking of funerals in general. How it is so sad to some people while most of the others present didn't even know the person who died. We say how the old died after a long fulfilling life and how a young one's life was cut too short. Bloody hell you didn't know that! For all we know it might have been the opposite.

I KNOW by Timsy Kamboj & Siddhartha Mittal

I am very happy to introduce to you guys a new brand that is being launched this November 17th. That is tomorrow! (due to some technical reasons it is not up yet. I will let you know when it goes online fully functional.)
I KNOW”, the brainchild of Timsy and Siddhartha has been raised by the duo that comes from completely different backgrounds. Timsy honed her skills in Fashion Design at Pearl Academy of Fashion, New Delhi and for her breakthrough in the field of designing she has been awarded the MOST INNOVATIVE COLLECTION AWARD for her Graduating Collection in Portfolio ’09. On the other hand Siddhartha has mastered his management skills that add commercial aspect to Timsy’s creative vision because he believes that the latest fashion is a reflection of the economic environment and consumer behaviors, attitudes and emotions.
Timsy and Siddhartha prefer minimal and uncluttered designs that have a very contemporary sensibility.
I KNOW’s designs are inspired by the unexpected. We look at fashion design as an art form and enjoy working with different fabrics, style lines and concepts.
A tapestry of varied cultural references infused with urbane existence plays a key role in our collections with which we have combined natural affinity to line and shape and a fascination for postmodern architecture. Working on drafts we have used synthesis of self-developed pattern making techniques alongside traditional methods of draping and embroidery to create distinct silhouettes. The challenge of harmonizing a line based design philosophy with the curves of the body is a constant in all our collections.

Here are a few examples of I KNOW’s latest collection of designer wear. I don’t know much about men’s wear but I like these basic shirts and pleated trousers for men. I wouldn’t mind keeping them in my wardrobe especially those pants alongside the printed shirts for women. This is office wear minus the bore factor according to me; although seeing men in red pants here in Calcutta is a dream that will await its fulfilment for years to come I think. I have seen their other work and all I can say is I am looking forward to their launch.
Sign up for their launch guys to get a credit gift now and I would love it if you check out their other designs here and here.

I did not get paid to do this post
P.S.-They sent me a dress which I featured here

Hope you had a very Happy Diwali!

To Frame/Fake Or Not To

Garance Dore's recent post on glasses got me thinking that almost 90% of the people I know wear glasses. I, myself cannot see without them. You maybe standing a few inches away from my face with a Cheshire cat grin and I won't be able to see you. Both set of my grandparents had glasses and my parents and uncles had to wear them for reading and regardless of the marks left on their noses and hollowed eyes I found the look simply cool and wanted a pair of my own. Well I had these red rimmed round sunglasses I wore even at home some times but, I never thought of getting a fake one just for the look. I always felt it was cheating the system somehow!
Finally I got them when I was 14 and felt just dashing! A few of my friends soon got lenses and seldom wore their glasses after that. Some stuck with just glasses. I finally decided to buy lenses when I got into doing eye make-up; that was after I had made this blog, after I had entered college life. I have hooded eyelids and it was impossible to see my eye make-up with glasses on, plus it didn't quite go with all my looks and I see the world in bokeh without any visual aid..which isn't very nice when you run the risk of walking onto unwanted stuff!
However, I still have 2 pairs of glasses that I wear with regularity. Especially on days I don't feel like walking out with weary eye bags and it also hides this stupid brown line I have on the bridge of my nose. I always choose frames which adds shape to my face a bit, not to mention colours and styles which all the people around me are not wearing. They are not custom made so obviously they are not unique but you get the idea right? Well I think we all do that since it becomes a part of our face, a part of our identity for a while.
I have met people who wear fake frames (especially fake nerdy frames! because they are so dang awesome I guess), I have heard people who hate the idea of wearing glasses and actually didn't even get their eyes checked till they started getting bat crazy headaches and absolutely had to.

Useless State Of Mind

senseless solitude

Whenever you feel like ranting open a Word document and just start venting. Punch in the words. It feels great and after a while you are thankful the frustration was damage controlled.I often feel like I don't fit in with the pace of this world. I do things at my own will and often get to pay heavily for it but I just never stop.
This is sort of a venting post, I am asking for some respite till I can delve back into the world of films and fashion. I just feel too crazy at the moment. But at the same time I need to blog and keep the connection live with you guys. See my insatiable need for attention and validation? Just kidding!
My fingers feel jumpy if I don't write something for too long, I feel like an idiot if I don't at least start reading some new book for too long, not to mention feeling like an utter buffoon if I have to tell someone I haven't seen so-and-so movie when they animatedly tell me how awesome it is.
Some times all I need is an answer I wasn't expecting or a cold shoulder to feel like I am having a breakdown. Do I sound psychotic? I sure do feel aggressive, impatient and not so productive. I would say I feel bipolar but then again I don't want be politically incorrect and offend those who are clinically diagnosed with bipolarity.
I accept I am not fearless but what I fear the most is being laughed at or not be taken seriously. It is hard to let go and let others see your fears and shortcomings as that makes me feel like I have failed myself. But once I decide I can't do something I just can't get over it. It's a strange kind of stubbornness.
Oh did I mention that I need a change of the spices used in my food every two weeks or so, otherwise I feel like my life is an array of utter boredom and that I should fall of the edge of a precipice just to end the jaded cycle of useless existence.
I can't deal with routines. The surest and fastest way to get rid of me is routine. People who do not change and do the same old same old drive me nuts. Put me in a place where there are useless boundaries and routines and I will go crazy in 2 days. More so I can't deal with people who do not understand this about me. I end up really hating people from time to time.

for the love of clarity and a sane state of mind
